Over the years, I've bought quite a few trains. During that time, I've had some parts break or get lost.
Today I received a couple of Lionel bobber cabooses I'd bought through ebay:
- 6-9068 Reading
- 6-9179 Chessie System
Both were advertised as "New", and they looked fine. Upon close examination, I noticed they each had a little plastic chimney stack taped to the bottom. However the Reading one's was shorter. It looked to have been broken off. When I looked at the roof of the Reading one, I saw the missing piece of the stack was still in the hole where it goes.
It's not a big deal, but I'd like to replace that broken piece with a new one rather than cement the two parts together. I have two questions:
- Where can I find a list of parts or an exploded diagram of the caboose to find the part number?
- Who carries replacement parts?
I actually have a few other Lionel cars with broken and/or missing parts that I'd like to fix and/or replace. I figured the chimney stack was a simple problem, but what I learn will help me deal with the rest of them myself.
I also have a K-Line pre-Lionel C & O K-3009 4-6-2 locomotive that stopped working after it derailed. After opening up the boiler, I saw the board had a circular melted area. Does anyone know of a replacement board source for that type of engine? Years ago, I took it to my local hobby shop. After having it a couple of weeks, they told me they didn't have the knowledge to repair electronic boards.
I'd appreciate any help I can get.
