Richard,

Does anyone have a simple way to do this?? ... Thanks Richard

You'll have to judge for yourself how "simple" is the following process, as described on pages 144-146 of The DCS O Gauge Companion 2nd Edition:

Backing Up the Contents of the DCS Remote

To begin the backup process, first close all other programs running on the personal computer. This includes virus protection software, PDA software, telecommunications programs, and any other programs that use the serial COM port. Then proceed as follows.

DCS O Gauge Companion 2nd Edition [Revised - Hot Links)1

If the DCS Loader Program is not already running, double-click on the DCS Loader Program icon on the Desktop to run it now. Next, click on the DCS Remote to PC icon (5th from left) at the top of the Consumer Program Loader window and follow the on screen prompts exactly as shown in the Figure below. Then, click the "START" button at the bottom left of the window.

Next, navigate to where the copy of the contents of the DCS Remote is to be saved. A good place to save copies of the contents of the DCS Remote's would be the My MTH files folder. Name the file and click on "Save."

When the process is completed a message is displayed on the personal computer. Cycle power to the TIU and the DCS Remote by turning them off and on again.

Restoring the Contents of the DCS Remote

To begin the restore process, first close all other programs running on the personal computer. This includes virus protection software, PDA software, telecommunications programs, and any other programs that use the serial COM port. Then proceed as follows.

If the DCS Loader Program is not already running, double-click on the DCS Loader Program icon on the Desktop to run it now. Next, click on the PC to DCS Remote icon (6th from left) at the top of the Consumer Loader Program window and follow the on screen prompts exactly as shown in the Figure below. Then, click the "START" button at the bottom left of the window.

Next, navigate to where the copy of the contents of the DCS Remote were previously saved. A good place to save copies of the contents of the DCS Remote would be the My MTH files folder. Select the file and click on "Open."

When the process is completed a message is displayed on the personal computer. Cycle power to the TIU and the DCS Remote by turning them off and on again.

This and a whole lot more is all in "The DCS O Gauge Companion 2nd Edition", now available for purchase as an eBook or a printed book from MTH's web store site! Click on the link below to go to MTH's web page for the book!
