Just avoid activating it.
Actually, it is quite simple to never hear Lionel's tower com or crew talk - never push button 2 or 7!
Happy railroading,
Don
I guess I wasn't clear enough about what I'm trying to do.
I'm tired of the "going to beans" dialog when shutting down a locomotive.
It Drives me crazy! Other than that I don't have a problem.
Also on TMCC locomotives. I'm tired of hearing the "noise" whenever I push 9 to increase smoke output.
I just pretend the cab voice is my wife, it's easy to not hear a word that is said then.
Chris, that was great!
Problem solved.
Thanks
Don't hold down the shutdown or startup button. Just tap it. Problem solved.
Hey Marty, I just tried tapping the shutdown button with 4 different Legacy locomotives, and still hear the "Beans" announcement?
Same with speed steeps

Then you ain't tapping fast enough. LOL!
I guess I should ask...Cab2? If so I don't know what to tell you as I can start up and shutdown 100% of the time with a quick tap of the start up key or shutdown key.
you do not have to go through a shut down, just cut off power.
Marty, I'm using a Cab2.
Then I don't know what's going on. I quickly, less than a second tap the startup or shutdown and I get zero crewtalk. Do it all the time.
Just shut down the power without doing the Aux 5. Actually though, "Going to beans" is correct railroad terminology. We don't usually say it on the radio, but unlike most of the other crew/tower talk...that is accurate.
Yes, I barely touched the buttons, so I don't know how to to do it any other way.

Just shut the damm power off, problem solved, geez!!
I know, I know David, That's what I do now, so its all good.
I was just trying to get Marty's technique down.
I was hoping for something like the DCS system's
ability to turn the chatter off.
Thanks
