I thought I might find a thread on this but no luck. I have the bottom frame with trucks off, but I don't see any way to get the beige floor out of the car. Here are a few pictures and I see no screws or tabs. Before I cause damage, I thought I would ask (what a concept). I don't see anything on Lionel's website either. Thanks in advance for ideas.

So I'm thinking the end cab pulls out of the end of the car? Key point, after you unplug the wires, and the endcap is removed, then you can get to the lighting PCB and slide it out.

Thanks Vernon, you are a miracle man to find that manual!
I agree with sliding out the end piece idea and will give it a try. From the manual, I get a strong message that the beige floor piece is not made to separate from the aluminum car body ...
Almost all the aluminum cars have the floor slide out one end.
Removal of the end cap was a royal PITA. All the time you are trying to remove the end cap, you are convinced you are on the edge of breaking something.

I was thinking about putting a few more people in the car but I bailed out on that! The floor on the observation car does slide out but .... it appears you have to pull out the wires to the light strip (I had a hard time imagining fishing them back in). Plus, you must remove the threaded rod at the tail end and re installing that and finding the base again was something I wimped out on too.
A few more pictures for the record, you can see the light strip and the plug at the top. Thanks for the help. Now let's see if I can get it to go back together.

There should be a way to disconnect them from one of the ends.
