I see many posts which include a link, either to another forum post or to a website; but instead of printing out the whole URL, the link appears as the words "Click Here", or something similar, underlined, and those words act as a clickable link.  The actual URL has been replaced in the post with a shorter phrase.

Could somebody please point me to where I can find instructions on how to do this?  This is evidently old news at this point, but I missed it and my searches have not found anything.

I'm not terribly advanced in computer know-how, so I need simple, step-by-step instructions.

thanks

Try this, someone correct if I have it messed up...

Type the shorter phrase in your post, like "CLICK HERE", select the shorter version of the test so that it is highlighted, (hold left mouse key and slide across the selected text). The "LINK" Icon will now be able to be clicked and then insert the URL Address you want to link to.

Then just paste the URL in the first box of the pop-up that appears. You can ignore all the other options. Then click the "insert" button.

Jim

okay, like this:

McCoy Freight

Cool.  It works.  Thanks Dennis and Jim.  Much more presentable!

Can you explain in a bit more detail?

I think that maybe Jim meant to ask about the "TITLE" field.  I can't make it do anything, either.

(BTW, if you are a Mac user,  Preview App (included with OSX) can do screen captures and annotations as well.)
