Can someone tell me how to take off the passenger car body from the frame of a 21" K-Line passenger car so I can get at the lighting? Thanks.

sharp edges wear gloves. K-Line single or bi-levels?
These are what you call singles, but for the dome cars. Was there a post at one time?
Remove the end caps. Unplug the lighting connector or connectors and the floor slides out of the extrusion.
Remove the end caps. OK, do they just pull away or......? CAn't say as I saw any screws.
I no longer have my set. I had it apart once. The chassis slides out as mentioned. If I remember correctly. The hard part is the aluminum body being snug against the chassis in sort of a channel. You could spread the skirting just a whisker and inset some pieces of basswood just to take the tension off of it. This gives the chassis some wiggle room to slide out easier.
I have the 15" K-Line cars. If I remember correctly, look underneath and you should see a screw heads on either side of the trucks. They hold the end caps on.
Thanks for the tips, I did see the screws, in fact I unscrewed them but at the time I didn't know what else to do, so I will attempt the project with these new details. I hope I am successful.
Many K-Line cars have screws at the top of the vestibules, you need a long screwdriver to access them. There's a hole to access them in the bottom of the vestibule.
OK thanks John!! I'll add that to the procedures.
