Hey guys,

Been trying to figure out how to remove the shell of an Atlas 40 foot Woodside steam era classics Reefer that I have to replace the shell with a different shell for the same type of car.

I looked on the underside of the Reefer to see if there were any screws but didn’t see any.

Would anyone out there be able to show me how these open up?

Thanks in advance!

Drew

I don’t have the car in front of me. Going on memory. Remove the trucks. You should see 4 small screws. One on each side of the truck pivot mount. Remove those screws and remove the chassis from the cars floor. You may have to fish some details out of the way.  This will expose 4 holes. The screws holding the body may not be visible but they are down in there. Before removing the body. Just make a note as to where the brake wheel is so that it goes back on the proper end of the chassis.
