Hudson Products made repros of the 700E. Not sure of when they were made though.

I got mine as a kit in 1982. Nice repro overall, but the connecting rods were poorly made and the valve gear stems were missing. All were replaced with "originals" I got at Madison Hardware. The company was probably gone by the mid '80s.

A slight thread hi-jack, here, sorry:
I once saw (and failed to buy...duh) a Hudson display board from Hudson Products, with that metal tag, but it had what looked to be 2-rail Lionel T-rail track. Many people were looking at it, and we all agreed that the rails, ties, fishplates, and hardware were all Lionel or an amazing re-creation, but in 2-rail. The metal ties were made so that there was no evidence of any center rail mountings.
No one had ever seen such track, and I have never seen it again. I have never seen any reference to that track in any Lionel or other historical writings. "The experts were baffled."
Just FYI, that was at the Westchester NY train meet back in the late 1980's. I always wondered who wound up with the display track, and if he did any further research on it.

The other Item they made was a set. AA / Box car / Tank car/ and a Caboose. They were orange ,blue and white. Lionel Corp /Lionel electric trains. Circle L. Very nice set I have one. They got in a big mess with the set. Had to stop selling them. But a few got out.
The TCA website has an interesting article regarding Hudson Products; click here to see it.
