I'm now a member and would like to join a local Division. I live on Long Island and from the listing provided there are 3 possible Divisions: Atlantic, Eastern and Metca. So which one do I join? Thank you.

Hi Charles,
Welcome to the TCA. Your local Division is METCA. Atlantic and Eastern divisions do not cover Long Island. You can find out more about METCA at:

Stu,
Just tinplate trains? According to your website and I quote...
"We welcome new members! Any person who collects or operates tinplate trains, who collects any items relating to tinplate trains, or professes a serious interest therein may apply for membership."

Charles,
Welcome to the Train Collectors Assoaciation. It's not as bad as everyone makes it out to be. I have met some wonderful people through the TCA.
Yes METCA is your local, geographical, Division, but you can join any, and as many Divisions as you like.

Hi Charles Welcome to the TCA! METCA is our local chapter. Don't forget there are two train shows on the Island next week. One in Lindenhurst and the other in Queens College (Greenbergs). Another plus on the island is if you can't drive to the TCA York meet there are two charter buses with stops on the Island that go to the show on Friday April19th. And don't forget come spring the Lionel Visitors layout reopens at the Railroad Museum in Riverhead (RMLI) !!
Welcome to TCA. I can say that METCA has great friendly members that will make you feel welcome. TCA is really about the people at the end of the day and the friendships found through local meetings and meets are what have made the TCA a really integral part of my hobby even if I don't personal follow the typical pattern of a TCA member. You are in good hands with the METCA folks.
