Truss-rodded B&LET flat car F5 coming along. That is a Van Dorn coupler mounted on it, a Link and Pin variant. This was used as an "Auto Ferry" car; when the roads were muddy they would carry autos to the next section of dry road.

The Buffalo and Lake Erie Traction :Auto-Ferry" Car is coming along, "grime " added over the red rust in a wash, grabs added, some of the bulkhead boards added and lettered; still needs brake lines added under the couplers and more bulkheads. The Model T depot hack needs finished too....

Looks to be coming along nicely!
Thanks, Marty!
Might consider fabricating some chocks to put in front & back of the wheels to insure that lovely little Ford stays put on the flat,
Now, you think there might be any interest in my bringing the resin cast traction flat back into production??
I honestly don't know how many people would want flats, Marty, I would imagine that a fair number of people will. I will probably have three flats total on the layout in the end. and thank you about the chocks, I don't see any on the pics that I have though they may not have been put in place yet in those but they certainly will keep the cars in place on the flat!
I did a run of ~20 kits a few years ago and ended up doing maybe another 8 for other folks thereafter. I thought that might have been the entirety of my market,
They may not have had chocks trusting the car to stay put. That was then.....
I am replacing the Athearn trucks with metal Wiseman archbar trucks with NWSL wheels to get more weight on to the rail for better operation on tight curves. I don't want my B&LET freight motor, which has two Magic Carpets on it's powered truck to drag the car off the rail, with heavier weight on the rail, that would be far less likely......I did weight the car, just being over-cautious....
