Download the 1.51 CAB and BASE Firmware.

Downlload the Legacy System Utility.  Also, download the LSU User's Manual to aid in installation and configuration of the utility.

Make sure you have an RS232 serial port available.  If not, you'll have to obtain a USB->Serial adapter, I use this Vantec USB to Serial Adapter.

Install the LSU software, unzip the 1.51 update into a work directory.

Run the LSU program, select your serial port with the Legacy base connected in the configuration.  Insert the black module to be written into the Legacy base.

Click on the button to create a CAB module and navigate to the folder where you unpacked the 1.51 update files.

Select the correct file on the file dialog and accept it.  The module write process will start.  When it completes, remove the written module.

Repeat this for the BASE module creation.

To update the CAB, power it off.  Insert the black module with the CAB update written to it.  Hold the SET button and hit the CTC button to turn on the base.  The rapid flashing light tells you it's updating.  When it completes, it'll restart and come up with the update installed.

TO update the base, pull the power connector from the base.  Insert the black module into the base with the base update software written to it.  While holding the channel select button on the bottom, insert the power connector into the base.  After the lights start flashing, you can release the channel select button.  When it completes, it'll restart and the base is updated.
