IRM Diesel Days?

Good deal - a little bit of real postwar railroading, with the F-M switcher blowing blue exhaust into the air, and the Mars light on the E5 wig-wagging figure 8's, all accompanied by the sound of single note air horns. This the railroading Generations X and Y missed. They can savor a little at IRM.

They got Espee 1518, built 5/51 as EMD 990. The first SD7....it gets better, but not on this planet!

Made it out to IRM today and got to see the parade of diesels. It was a perfect day for train watching.

I'll say! No such thing as too many Diesels.  Poor ol' 1518 could sure use a paint job, but I'd put her back in EMD 990 garb.  What is the story on the "Q" SD24?????
