Marty,

Never had the chance to speak to you, I worry about being out of place in making any comment.  However, through the list serve I have read some of your thoughts and know of your passion for life, family, friends and people you don't yet know.  I always learn from this forum, not only the answers to questions posed, but see the really kind and interested people who have patience enough to answer those questions.

I have this impression that you have lived your life as someone who brings joy to his family, friends and this hobby.

Therefore, please accept my best wishes and hopes that you recover soon so that  your family, your friends and those who have not yet met you have you back in full form.  I look forward to having the pleasure of reading of your recovery and your always entertaining comments, answers and observations.

Get well soon,

Manny Levin

Marty,

You are one of the really good people in this hobby and you have been a good friend to me over the years and I thank you for that.  I am blessed to know you.

Hey, I want to see you at York this October! I hope the Good Lord lets it happen. I figure a few prayers for you on a regular basis can't hurt, so I am doing that. As Alan Arnold said earlier, anything you need, please let us know, we want to help.

Hope to see you in October.

Just a quick post. Marty is not doing better or OK right now. It's too early in his treatment to know if the radiation will shrink the tumor in his leg (that is causing the blood clots) or the chemotherapy will slow down the growth of the cancer. It has spread to his lungs so is now considered stage 4  sarcoma. We really won't know until later this summer, after the first round of treatments. He's determined to fight this and it makes it easier knowing all our fellow Forum members are behind us. Thank you all! (BTW: I'm fielding all questions and providing what answers I can. He hasn't felt like talking or texting on the phone, or getting online.)

Hi Dotty and Marty, Thank You for your kind update concerning Marty’s present condition, your friends in Tennessee/Kentucky/Indiana will be praying for Marty to get better as quick as possible. Prayers are powerful and so is Marty. I watch Marty on the DVD ‘s often, his layout is a Crowd Pleaser, and the Crowds praying for Marty to.  Best Regards, Thank You for being there for Marty.   Your friend, Leapin Larry Levin

Marty, As a stage 4 survivor, I can speak to the therapeutic and curative properties of "workin' on the railroad". St. Thomas Aquinas said "work is prayer" so I encourage you to invest both emotional and physical energy in your magnificent pike. During my recuperation it worked wonders. Having met you and Dotty at the Big E, several years ago, I know you have both the motivation and support to overcome this challenge. And besides, anybody who can build working catenary can do anything! Good luck to you both.

Marty, we have never met and probably wont as I am on the west side of the states. I wanted to say that my family and I are praying for you and hoping for a good recovery. I like Tom is a stage 4 survivor. I belive in prayer and the thought of others played a big part in my recovery, so I want to make sure I pass it on for your recovery! God Bless you Marty!

I never know the right things to say. There have been some great posts here and I truly hope they help Marty get better. He is a genuine person and I am grateful to have met both him and Dotty. I have been saying prayers for him for a good while now. I look forward to seeing him in a certain new mid engine model cruisin' down the highway again soon. I think they'll have it ready for you Marty!
