No, the PowerMaster serves a totally different purpose. You need a command base to use the Legacy Powermaster, and the PowerMaster is for controlling track power from the remote for conventional running.

I frequently see cab-1L and base 1L’s at train shows - keep your eyes open they are out there and can be had for much cheaper than the base2.
