Is there an online website a Lionel Trains Library that is for MPC or Modern Era.

Other than the above mentioned digital library, the answer is "no", but a good project for anyone with too much time on their hands would be to create one, and post it here in a few months when they've finished.

Would certainly take quite some time, as from 1970 to current there are more than 25,000 items.

I've also heard that current Lionel, in just 2 recent years of production, produces more unique PNs than the entire postwar period.

The only one for the MPC era I know of requires being a member of the LCCA.
I personally would highly recommend joining the LCCA (I have been with them since 2011). As a member, you have access to exclusive LCCA products, publications, and the Historical Model Train Archive. The archive contains Lionel Catalogs, magazines, service manuals, advertisements, and much more.

Hi Bryce, great post,  On your first link to the Lionel Website, there is a "Resources" tab at the top, under that heading is a "Owners Manuals"

In this section is a drop down menu for "Product Supplements". This is the holy grail for parts lists and exploded repair diagrams. 

The first supplement is over 500 pages and with a starting date of 1970

That is truly impressive!  Those supplements are a bit big to find specific items, even with their index in the front.  Thank you so much!

The product search on Lionel.com has virtually all items from 2000 to present, excluding uncataloged items. Note the older items show up in the archives tab in the search results.

May want to find a copy of the last TM Books & Video Modern Era guide, off the top of my head the last one was published around 2003, they were an excellent source of info, much better than the Greenberg guides regarding content and accuracy.
