If you take the shell off, you can probably put the spring back in place. In the worst case, just close it and glue it.
Can you get to the inside of the door from the vestibule? Or is there an opposite door on the other side of the car?
It's best to get to the door from the inside. Failing that, maybe you can use a dental pick on the door.
Or, maybe you can loop some thread over the door, pull it closed.
Failing that, you may have to take the floor off the car.
It's not hard to remove the shell of MTH Premier cars, I'd take the shell of so you can really see the mechanism to repair it.
