So, I have a friend at work (here in Maine) who has a lot of the same hobbies and interest that I have. The cool thing about that is once in a while I stop by his office and chat, and share model railroad interest. So we share cool photos from web sources, show and tell train stuff, discussions of many a topic, O scale and O Gage toy trains inclusive. So, I stopped in with coffee in hand just after my departmental a.m. report not to go on rounds yet.
George was very excited to show me a picture of his anticipated new acquisition on his cell phone. An O scale Atlas SW 9 in B&M vintage markings, red stripes around nose (like classic B&M /MEC days). So I immediately looked at the engine and background and said, "Wait a minute, I Know this engine, I recognize the background building flats. That is Nick B's engine In Florida! " Silence for a moment , some grimace, a lot off staring in wonderment, then sudden laughing out loud! "George, That's the one I sold Nick B. Five +years ago!"
I ran into him at work that day multiple times we just couldn't believe this happened! Subject of a lot of laughing. Naturally, Nick was emailed with a picture of me laughing in his office. I have known Nick for years and had met him on multiple forums in the past.
So, I will be seeing my old engine at work probably next week!
George plans to Proto 48 it ( drop in fine scale wheels etc.) as that is what he is into at home, unless of course I can talk him out of it!
You can't make this stuff up! Wild huh?
