I saw a post  from someone who hadn't heard from for a long time and it hit me how people come and go on the forum. I think I've been a menber since about 2001 and the number of people who you thought would never disappear,  hardly post then all of the sudden they are back. I wonder what makes them come and go.

For me, I'm busy in the summer months & rarely have time to run trains, so I rarely visit the forum.

Plus I got into photography & have been visiting photo forums.

I finally setup some track around the tree & I've been racking up the miles in the last week & 1/2.  I missed oiling & greasing trains.  I've had to make a few repairs too, blown tires & carpet fuzz jamming things up.

Sean, like you I have been a member since 2001, but I had to re- register sometime during 2005(change of OGR servers if memory serves) and lost my original " since 2001" foundational status, but I still feel like one of the "OG's".

I dearly love trains but I also lead a very complicated life and have to prioritize on occasion.

To be honest, I very much dispair of the political-religious stuff that gets injected into so many posts and when it gets to be too much I drop out for awhile.

There are some posters that I very much like to read, Electroliner, Don Scalerail, Allan Miller ( who offered advice to me on a train purchase so so long ago),and if I go on I know that I will forget someone important that I really respect and admire so that will do for now.

As a West Coaster, I know that I will probably never meet most of you, but it has been very rewarding to me to be a part of this forum.Thank you OGR!

Regards, John Meyncke
