Not sure about your set Jaymark, but some of those cars that came with scale couplers were also cataloged as coming also with normal couplers.

I never understood the marketing logic of why K-Line decided to put scale couplers on those MARX origin cars? Most folks who desire scale couplers aren't interested in those 027 sized cars. And folks like me who like those 027 cars, don't want scale couplers, but the normal regular ones.

I liked those CNJ hoppers and recall seeing them at a show used with the scale couplers only. I would have bought them, but then was faced with the added cost of putting on the regular trucks sets, and that wasn't worth the added cost.

I ended up doing a repaint job on another K-Line 027 hopper that came with the right couplers.

Hope gunrunnerjohn is right about them working for you. I'd be curious to know too if they work and work on 027 curves?

Kadee type couplers on K622 O27 hoppers?  Wow, how odd!  I can see it on the K6254 diecast scale rib side hoppers but I don't think K-Line ever did that.

The "027" sized freight cars (derived from the Marx tooling) with scale couplers were a late in the game creation by K-Line for sets that were headed by the Plymouth Switchers, and the Porters.

My Plymouth set came with a replacement "traditional" coupler for the engine, and the instruction manual stated that the scale couplers would mate with traditional couplers, but from my own experience that it not always the case. I'll have to check the set box to see if they provided instructions for replacing the scale couplers on the rolling stock.

Needless to say that the "027" sized freight cars made by K-Line for years had traditional couplers, and they are affordable to collect to this day.
