I had a loose wire and wanted to get inside the caboose to fix it. I immediately determined there was no instructions as to how to gain access. I did find a previous forum on this site but it really did not provide straight forward instructions.
After as frustrating hour I figured out how to remove the caboose shell from the frame of the caboose. First do not remove any of the four small philips head screws on the bottom four corners of the caboose that are readily visible. There are four holes in the bottom four corners of the bottom of the caboose. In these four holes are four small philips head screws at a depth of about 3/4 inch. Remove there four hidden screws. These are the only screws requiring removal.
Next “unsnap” the ladders, railings, and antennas from the ends of the caboose. The roof antenna snaps into to the floor. The railing posts and ladders unsnap from the roof. The are not glued on, they snap in place by small pins on each railing, ladder and antenna. After all items are unsnapped from the roof or floor the shell of the caboose will come of the frame very easily. Be careful though as the railings, ladder, and antenna can catch on one another.
No glue is required during reassembly. The pins all resnap into the caboose roof or floor.
