Hi, I was wondering if the K-Line O Scale Classics Boxcars are the same size or larger than the Lionel 6464 series.

The K-Line classics cars that start with 6xxx are the same size as 6464 Lionel cars, but the K-Line cars have more added-on details.
The K-Line cars that start with 7xxx are scale size, so that makes them larger than 6464 cars.
The earliest K-Line cars in the blue boxes were made from the Marx deluxe molds and are smaller than 6464 cars.

So a K761 is larger?
@RoyBoy posted:Yes. K761 is probably an old Intermountain kit that K-Line used when they first got into scale and before they made their own molds. It is scale size, so it is larger than Lionel 6464 cars.
Thanks Roy, I'll be ordering a couple that I been watching.
The 6400 series K-Line box cars are essentially the same size as the Lionel cars. They were adapted from the KMT box cars from the 50's that had one door molded open and the other closed. The retooling was done in house. In 1995 these molds were replaced with the new 640 series cars that had the additional detail, 4 metal ladders, grab bars and a metal brake wheel. They were produced in China. Again, essentially the same size as Lionel and the 6400.
