I have 10 K-Line reefers from their "Historical Art" series. They are:

K762-7481 PRR

K762-7482 NYC

K762-7483 FEC

K762-7484 SP

K762-7485 PRR

K762-7486 NYC

K762-7487 FEC

K762-7488 SP

K762-7489 B&O

K762-7490 C&O

The first eight cars are in black boxes with gold trim, the last two are in the newer yellow and black boxes. Only the last two car numbers are listed on the K-line Legacy website. So my question is, are there more of these cars or is this all there is in this series?

I am under the impression that they were made for the Scranton Hobby Center.

Tim,

I purchased one there not too awful long ago. I think that they still had a few left at that time.

I don't believe the Lackawanna reefer was part of the historical art series. I have the same 10 that Tim mentions. The difference with the historical art cars is that at certain angles the cars appears to be painted over. Under the graphics you can see the outline of the old heralds and lettering. a really neat effect. I don't believe the Phoebe Snow car had this.

They look like this.

My mistake, you're right. The two shops used to be across the street from each other and I misremembered which one issued the Lackawanna car.

Technically you are correct, the Lackawanna car was a special run and not part of K-Line's regular art series. However, I thought it was worth mentioning because it is the same style of artwork on the car and was done in the same time frame on the same basic reefer.

I only have nine of the original ten cars. The Chessie one makes me gag, it's so sweet and cute.
