Hi, I've seen one on-line reference of K-line shadow rail curves in 48", listed as sold out, with 14 pieces making a full circle. Was that an error? I've only seen 42" curves listed otherwise...I bent some Super O into 48", but my Right-of-Way engine sounds like a machine gun going over the ties...think I need a higher-profile track, and like the look, if it's in 48". Thanks.

Thanks very much...no 048.
I have been looking for either supersnap or shadow rail K-Line track 054 curves but no luck. I settled on 042. Sometimes EBay and Trainz gets them but the supply appears to be drying up over the last couple of years. Some years ago I converted my 9' by 12' layout to supernap/shadow rail.
I can see why you went with it, the extra ties and blackened center rail make for a nice look and still allows easy use of lionel operating tracks and switches. Good luck in your search!

I agree - the Shadow Rail has a great look. I wish someone still made it.
Go with Gargraves track, with blackened "shadow" they call it "Phantom" rail--with Ross switches--dark center rail.
Thanks, but older forum posts had members saying some of their equipment "rode over the ties" on gargraves, too....I'm very, very happy with my Super O, but need track with a higher rail profile for some (non-lionel) engines.
Gargraves is fine, but it doesn't have the look or feel of classic, traditional tubular track that many favor. The Shadow Rail seemed to be a great "just right" blend of traditional track with a more realistic look.
Gargraves is nice, but the Shadow Rail had the classic traditional tubular track look many folks like, but with "just right" updated features to make it look more realistic. Really hit a sweet spot, IMHO. (And Magnetraction friendly, as well. )
I wonder who has the tooling for supersnap or shadow rail K-Line track. I was able to purchase 031 switch tracks that were RMT and looked brand new and identical to supersnap products.
KADAR has the tooling for supersnap I think.
They have most of the old K Line molds and tooling.

Kader. Not sure if they have it, but otherwise you’re right.
