Mike,
I used Kadee 805 and 806 couplers on my 21" OK Engines cars, running on 072 curves:
I used PSC diaphragms on all my cars (OK Engines, K-Line, and All-Nation) and they just touch on the curves. On smaller curves the striker plates(?) would bind because the dge of one would slide past the edge of the plate on the other car, then get hung up on the straight track.
I think I may have used a modified Atlas coupler (to fit in a Kadee coupler pocket/springs) on a couple of cars. The Atlas couplers had a bit longer shank than the Kadee and the extra length kept the striker plates from rubbing.
