I wish I had a layout with 0-72 curves, but alas, I don't think that's ever going to happen.  That means that my options  for having trainsets like the Acela for my Amtrak collection are limited, if not non-existent.  Has anyone tried to scratchbuild or kitbash an Acela for tighter curves?  Or how about the UA Turbo?

When MTH did the Flying Yankee, or should I say the Pioneer Zephyr, there were both Premier and Railking versions, which was nice for people with tighter curves.  I wish the same were true for more modern trainsets.

I think it's pointless to say MTH/Lionel/Atlas should make this or that.  So if we are on our own, what about going down the kitbash or scratchbuild route?  If there is anyone out there who can share their experiences, I'd very much like to know.
