Kusan or Kusan-Williams GP ("Beeps"): What type of motor?

How do the RMT beeps compare to the Kusan beeps?

The old BEEP models only powered one truck, so there were truly anemic pullers.  The RMT BEEP isn't exactly the tug-of-war champ, but I'm pretty sure it'll out-pull the Kusan models.

The Williams version was a simple one-axle drive with a crown gear, driven by a Mabuchi(or knockoff) DC motor with a pinion gear.  Loud, sloppy, weak, cheap.

Kusan's are two rail.  Decoration is very basic.

Correct.  2-rail DC.

IIRC, Kusan also made a two rail O scale Alco FA. They also sold two rail track.  I bought one to run with my Lionel, so it wound up being a dummy. The whole AMT-KMT-Kusan history is interesting. I seem to remember that the cars were too light to run with Lionel at the time.

If you go online and google Candy Train Beep, you will see an old Youtube, where somebody took a three rail Alco FA, cut the chassis in half (don't ask me how), and mounted a Kusan Beep shell on it.  It looks and runs pretty great.

I have the Kusan battery powered Beep.  TBH I have never run it as it came as an unwanted auction lot with a loop of plastic track, about 6 boxcars with printing on one side, two FAs that are all plastic and non-powered, and the Beep.  It does not have side frames for the wheels.  I got the whole lot for $10 so nothing lost on my part, but you have given me the inspiration to dig it out of storage and take a closer look.  I have some standard gauge from Christmas that still needs to make its trip back to storage soon.  I'll be sure to grab it.
