I've seen some amazingly tidy and clean wiring on the electrical forums here. The best all seem to utilize color-coded wire (I'm sure there some that weren't, but I can't remember those). While that was my original plan, I was in a big blue home improvement store the other day, and they'd mis-keyed a markdown. I got 3x 500 ft rolls of 14 AWG THHN (1,500 ft) for less than $5. The only problem is that it's all gray. Does anyone have any way that they've cleanly labeled or marked layout wires that didn't involve multi colored wires?
I found a pack of 10 different color electrical tape rolls for cheap on a few web sites, so I was thinking that may be the best way to go - color code each end of each wire.
Another option that I thought of was to use a label maker, but that seems like it will be much more tedious.
Thoughts? Suggestions? If you have photos of what you've done, I'd love to see them.
