Latest Lionel Legacy FEF ?

I bought the 8444 version and I’m very happy with it. I just have a question about the emergency stop light on front. Is this light suppose to work? I didn’t see anything on the remote to turn it on or off? My first Legacy FEF light works when the engine is stopped and goes off when it’s on the move. Anybody got an answer? Thanks.

From the manual. The emergency stop icon displays when underway.
