I started dismantling a good portion of my layout yesterday.  I will be moving the 6 track yard, outer mainline and service track to the far wall and  triple their length.  I am eliminating my duckunder and will be installing a dutch door water scene to enter the room.  I think this new 'perimeter' design will be more operator friendly.  Three new scenes will be. Blast Furnace and Casting House, Steam Engine Facility and a water scene with tug and barge.

I've been working for the last week on the layout changes and thought I would post some photos (iphone).  I will take some better ones I promise.

The trestle is gone.

I might put it back in here but I do not know yet.

I removed my display case.  Painted the wall.  Moved the old yard over and lengthened it by 74"

A water scene will go here.

There are still three corners with new trackage for a blast furnace, rolling mill and engine facility.

Thanks for looking!

Thanks for the nice comments!

Zett,

I am saving the dutch door photos and descriptions for a possible 'How To' in OGR.

I will say that it works very well and is strong enough to last for years to come.

Tom,

"Tow Boat" it is!  Thanks for setting me straight.

Don't know about the trestle yet.......................
