Rich - any chance of getting some of those panels, much like the HO DPM modular stuff? Russ
Hi guys,
Yes we plan to launch these as both kits, and as modular parts so one could make large structures as they like.
I still have more work to go. Hope is to have for the spring.
We will also have a more detailed structure line soon that will offer somethings not before available in O.
Looks great Rich
Alex
Thanks Rich. I look forward to more great stuff from Korber. Russ
Hello All,
I had a few minutes today, to make some progress on the elevated industrial areal near my yards and engine service facility.
The two track main line runs under the areas. The idea was to craft a block wall structure that will have a top and place additional industrial structures on top of it.
This is a structure I think from an old K line kit, this will be a mountain top transmitter site for my TV and FM stations - The AM station is in another part of the layout. I completed this some time ago, but I don't think I posted it. I still have to add the tower.
As always questions, comments and suggestions welcome.

I like the tiered look. Should add a lot to the scene. Russ
The layout is really shaping up.
Love the tv station. That wall section is looking good.
Hi Rich,
Everything looks very nice, you do some great work!!!!!!!!!
I would love a tour around your layout sometime, maybe a video or pictures
Alex
Thanks Guys for the nice comments
Not much work this week, but I did finally get a real NYC tug in my harbor to replace the PRR one I have had. The last of the PRR is now off the layout.

Rich.....this custom job is nothing short of AMAZING!......a K-Line kit that I believe originally was a Marx mold....just fantastic work!!!!
Peter
The last of the PRR is now off the layout.
Them's fightin' words!
very nice work, just ordered the Korber sand house and tower for my layout
Howard
Looks great Rich, I really like the NYC tug. Can't wait to create my new Harbor scene (someday)
Alex
Rich, Looks great !

Thanks All,
Peter , yes it was a simple kit, I used a textured spray paint to give a bit more depth, and different look. It did come out pretty nice, I do have to get to the tower now :-)
Howard, thank you, and thanks for the nice order.
Bob, I think the rule is something like no PRR with in 20 miles of your great layout. :-) Mine just is not up to your caliber.
In all seriousness, I really just needed to focus on one railroad, and as the PRR did not go thur Albany, when I build the Albany Union station, it would not match up.
That whole harbor scene looks great.
Thanks guys,
Doug those are Lionel ones I found at York a few years ago
They had two sizes, this is the taller one.
Rich
Rich, nice work! The layout is really shaping up! Thanks for sharing.
See you at York!
Hi Rich,
Any updates on your layout?
Thanks!
Long time since I updated and did some work on the layout. I have been working on an elevated area using a combination of kitbashed and scratchbuilt, I made the platform out of Masonite and will place on top of the walls I already installed.
Also have added a passenger station.
This is the Korber Models Lionel factory rebranded as the Korber Models Factory.
The next building for the elavated area is a kitbashed factory flat I am making. This will have walls that cut in and out rather that a flat front.
As always open for comments and suggestions.

Great job, Rich!
Peter
Thanks Peter
Rich those are some really nice structures you've added. Good to see an update.
This is one premier layout! Great work.
Hi Rich,
Nice work
Alex
Thanks Alex
It is good to be back building on the layout again.
The elevated area is on the layout! I got a bit of time to knock these buildings out and get them lighted.
The left most is a Todd architectural building I detailed and lit, the large one in the middle is a kitbash of the Korber 950 pickle factory, next to the right is a kitbashed version of the Lionel sub station, the next is from a Walthers ho engine back shop with modified Korber roundhouse windows and the angle building at the far right is from the Walthers o scale dairy building.
All have led lights and some weathering. The backs are made with black foam core material, one of my favorites to create scratchbuilt structure and cover with other material.
I also was able to add some ballast to the mainline under the elevated section and the end of the yard.
The building with the rolling stockings front of it will be a large ice house, I am working on an icing platform to go between the two backtracks.
As always comments and suggestions welcome.

Excellent work Rich. I like it. I will have a similar area to complete on my new layout. I have about 40' to fill with industrial type "backdrop" buildings.
I like the paint and weathering.
What paint did you use to get the concrete retaining color?
Thanks.
Donald
Donald,
thanks for the kind words.
I used a grey primer as the base color, then I used several coats of an India ink and alcohol wash to highlight the deatials. Finally I did a light overspray of rustolium camo black to add more “soot”.
I have been working on a project I had in mind for some time, a large icing platform. This is kitbashed from two atlas kits. It will go on the layout in the yard area just below the elevated area and will be attached to the large ice house.
As always I am open to comments and suggestions.

I am ready to dry. What a wonderful space to build in. Super layout.
Melvin,
Thanks for for the kind words. I am fortunate to have a great space.
Can't wait to see more of this build! Love the ice platform.
I got the platform placed on the layout, will need to wire in and then work the ballast and ground cover.
