Carl:

I watch “I Love Toy Trains” on Direct TV Channel 345 and it is normally on at 4:00 PM Eastern time on Thursday afternoons with the same show repeating at 2:00 AM Friday morning.  The 4 PM show occasionally gets pre-empted by special RFD programming which is what happened today due to the FFA Convention airing all afternoon.   So it looks like ATT-uverse may have the same schedule and it should be on at 4:00 PM next Thursday.

And for you 1:1 scale guys, on Mondays at 6:00 PM Eastern, RFD-TV runs a 60-minute show called Trains & Locomotives which is also sometimes preempted so it repeats at 4:00 AM Tuesday mornings.  "I Love Toy Trains" is only 30 minutes long.

I always DVR them, too.

HTH,

HTH is right about the two air times on RFD for "I Love Toy Trains."  Pity the show is only 1/2 hour in length.

I've watched and/or recorded Trains & Locomotives.  To me it seems like a railfan show using old video that probably was not professionally shot.  Nevertheless, I enjoyed the CP Royal Hudson show as I rode an excursion trip on it along with the family many years ago.  The show isn't my cup of tea, but others may enjoy it, so check it out.

C.W., I don't think RFD has been on U-verse for long because in the three Toy Train shows I've seen, a guy (executive with RFD?) appears and announces that RFD is now carried by U-verse and encourages viewers to contact the FCC to encourage cable companies to carry rural TV.

I suggest you contact RFD directly and ask which companies carry the channel.

Good luck.

Well, it has been on both major satellite systems for a long time (DirecTV and Dish - I've had both systems over the years).

C.W.:

Confirming what Andy posted, according to their website, RFD-TV was launched in 2000 and is now AVAILABLE in 63 million households in the US.

I’ve had Direct TV for 11 years now and the RFD-TV channel has been on all of that time.  They have had train-related shows on it for as long as I’ve had it although they were slightly different shows in the beginning.

Here’s a link to the RFD-TV website for more information including which cable or satellite systems may carry it in your area: Home

HTH,

Since we're discussing this..... I'm happy to announce that I Love Toy Trains will return in 2015 for another season with 26 new episodes! If you'd like to see if RFD TV is in your area Click Here

Working with Tom McComas and the LCCA to keep this show going strong is another project of mine. The members of the LCCA should be very proud of the work that their appointed leaders are doing to keep the LCCA out in the public eye. I Love Toy Trains reaches well over 100,000 homes on a monthly basis. Not bad for a small niche cable show. RFD-TV continues to ask TM Books & Video to produce the show due to it's popularity.

whoever produces this show doesnt know what they are doing. this weeks show starts"the club layout is located in the church basement". no mention who the club is,what it is, or where they are from. show must be bits and pieces of tmv dvd put together.maybe part 1 was last week.theres been other times ,for example, they go from a hirail layout ,take a comm. break and start up with a tinplate layout.the show is great for us in the hobby, but might be a little over joe publics head.-jim
