I'm in the process of finishing my layout up.  I'm using LCS to control my spurs power (Via the BPC2) and turnouts and uncoupling track (Using the ASC2).  I have the Lionel AMC/ARC Log Loader that I also want to operate with the Cab 1&2 remotes, but I'm unclear on how to proceed.  I know it was made to be controlled with TMCC, but I didn't understand the directions on how to do so, something about how to connect it to the command base.  So I'm hoping someone has either done this, or is more knowledgeable on the whole LCS system, and could advise me on how to proceed.  I do not plan on using the control box it comes with (That have the levers on it.) for the same reason I'm using the ASC2 to control my turnouts, no place to mount the controls.

The Log Loader is pre-LCS, and thus uses a two wire serial interface in place of the PDI interface your ASC2 and BPC2 uses. Because the PDI cable connects to the Command Base, the Command Base's serial port is being used. I have a similar situation - in my case it is to control DZ2500 switch machines via the two wire serial interface. I had to purchase the SER2 module - this uses the PDI interface to connect with the base, then creates the two wire serial interface you need to connect to you Log Loader.

BTW - reminder that if you end up buying the SER2, you will need a PDI cable also to daisy chain from your other LCS equipment.

So I need the SER2?  Looks like I have to use the controller of the log loader no matter what.  I guess I'll try to mount it under the layout somehow so that the wires coming out of it and the levers are safe not to be bumped or broken off.

As for the PDI cables, already have 7 under the layout.  Almost forgot them last time.

Thanks.
