I just got the LCS wifi module for Christmas and I get a (Failed to establish a base connect). I tried the LSU on my laptop after joining the Lionel LCS-888D network and I established a base connection. I then hooked an older iphone (IOS 13.3.1) and used the icab app and it worked. My wife's ipad is ver. 14.7.1 and it works perfectly with the LCS app. When Itried it on my ipad and iphone 10 which are ver. IOS 15.1 neither work. It has to be an Apple ios problem. It seems if you have an up to date IOS it will not connect. Any suggestions?

My 15.1 iOS iPhone 10 works fine with the LCS WiFi module. I run both iCab and High Rail app.
Marty, I can connect to the LCS network but it won’t connect to the base. The older IOS devices work every time. Any ideas? Thanks
Is the LCS module set to “base”? It has a Base/No Base switch.
I assume it probably is since older devices connect.
What is the base software version?
Yes. It works with all the older IOS. Is there a software update for the LCS Wi-Fi module? The base is 1.60
1.6 is current for the base. You cannot update the LCS module.
Not sure if it’s related or not, but iOS 15.1 was really glitchy and caused a number of connection issues with other applications. A number of car interface programs like CarPlay broke, I couldn’t play music from my phone once I upgraded to 15.1.
Just for kicks, can you try upgrading your phone to the latest version of iOS? iOS 15.2 is the latest publicly released version and it appears to have fixed the issue with connecting to cars, though I have 15.3 Beta on my phone and it works just fine as well.
I am upgrading both the phone and ipad to 15.2, and I will let you know. Thanks for the advice.
I upgraded to 15.2 and it still doesn't work.
Solved: In settings under Lionel LCS I had to allow access to local network.
