I just came home from Larry’s layout. What fun and enthusiasm. He was so enjoyable and generous, and is a true Tennessee icon in the hobby. Thanks, Leapin’, you are my new model train hero!!!

Just reading his posts here all these years ... Larry seems like a genuinely nice guy.
You're a lucky guy. Larry's layout is a beauty and he's an absolute gentleman.

Yes, Larry has enthusiasm, but Ron is no slouch either. Gotta be something in that TN water (or whiskey) that keep these guys in such a positive frame of mind.
I'm glad I got to meet them both on my trips to TN.

So, which Ron are we talking about?

Ron, the guy who started this thread. The original poster.

Randomly met him at York in 2019 - he introduced himself in the parking lot! Such enthusiasm - I hope to be able to visit his layout someday.
Sorry, I hadn't noticed that the original poster was "Ron."

Nice to be known for something without controversy 👍🚂

As a retired neurosurgeon, have you seen Dr. Glaucomflecken's satire on your specialty?

Neurosurgeons have amongst the most hair raising clinical situations in all of medicine and work longer and harder hours than almost everyone else, for those who don't know. They are amongst the bravest and most resilient individuals in health care in my view.
Leapin' Larry often responds to my posts to the OGR FORUM with a "like." So I "like" him!

I purchased an engine from Larry a few years ago. Was outstanding to deal with. A true gentleman and a man of his word. All his posts that I have read are encouraging...He is a great ambassador to this great hobby. They don't come better than Larry.
I saw Larry's layout during the LCCA convention a few weeks ago. Larry is a very generous host and super friendly. I thoroughly enjoyed his layout!
Larry always seems so positive and happy in his posts and always seems to be having fun whenever he's seen in a picture. Who else works so hard at having fun with trains that they need to wear a sweatband on their head?. By the way, he's got the best toys!
