Legacy 6-84400 won’t run in TMCC

Oh I did try setting the cab 1 to engine 1 also to engine99 niether worked. Two different layouts so something wrong in engines?

Do any other TMCC/Legacy engines run on that track section?  Two engines doing the same thing is starting to suggest it may not be the engines.

Ya the other TMCC run at my home but the two that blew up at the club only run in conventional. I guess what ever happened at the club blew them both up at the same place in the track?

Well, that's pretty odd, that's for sure.  I'm having a hard time with something killing the TMCC function just by running over a section of the layout.

Thanks for your attention John. We don’t have a train repair place in San Diego. I checked my layout and other TMCC work. Just the two that got fried at the club don’t work. I noticed when the broken trains get power they start up in conventional. The run switch is in run or program doesn’t matter. I must have fried some electronics. 

Well, that's not a really good sign as the RCMC is the $120 board that does all that stuff.

Could 2 sections be out of phase at that point possibly causing and issue?

Maybe Marty, but I'd think everyone at the club would be blowing up locomotives in that case.

Had a similar response after I ran a "lash up" of a LIONEL B&O ABBA consist.  A and B were powered.  The TR4 ran well for  a number of days.  Then after about a week I tried to run the consist, but it would only respond in the conventional mode.  Could not address the engine!  Antenna showed continuity between galvanized antenna and location on board.  Replaced the R2LC and still the same problem, runs only in convention mode, with sound, but no horn or bell. Genoz did you solve the similar problem you wrote about?

I took the batteries out and let them sit for a month per suggestion from another thread. One ran for awhile in tmcc then stopped again. The other only runs in conventional and only runs backwards.  I just set up a new Lionel 990 without any affect on those engines. I tried the reset, tried reprogramming but those are the only engines that refuse to run on my layout

Batteries in TMCC/Legacy have nothing to do with movement and lighting, they're only used to backup the sound module to prevent sound glitches during momentary track power interrupts, say going over a bridge.  Batteries being installed or not installed will have absolutely no effect on movement or lighting.
