My Legacy CAB2 seems to be locked in CAB1 mode if that is possible. I also got a F7 powered B unit to go with my AA units. I tried to make a train unit out of the 3 of them ABA, but it didn't work. Also the B unit acted very sluggish and would do wheelies and derail. Any ideas? I thank all in advance with their help.

Gunrunnerjohn, When I have a legacy engine on the track, the screen on the CAB2 always shows CAB1. When I use my CAB1, I see that whatever engine number I punch in on the CAB1 shows up on the CAB2 screen. I will try your remedy and see what happens. I did put both blue 1.4 version modules in their respective places ie: CAB2 base and CAB2 remote but that didn't change anything.

I tried the info scroll scroll to no avail. I pushed in the little reset button on the back of the CAB2 also to no avail. When, on the CAB2, I press eng, then the number, a CAB1 message shows up on the screen. Is there a way to erase everything on my CAB2 remote and base and start clean? There is some extra wiring and track work I need to do before I can get back at this problem. So give me a few days and I will get back to all of you. Thanks again, MilwRdPaul

You can do a complete reset that will erase all information from the base. The instructions are in the manual.

You have the modules in place, did you actually do the programming procedure to install the firmware into the respective units?

Hi everyone, I was just downstairs at the layout. I loaded the blue cab module into the CAB2 remote. When finished, I loaded the blue base module into the CAB2 base. When finished I loaded the orange module for the F7 into the CAB2 remote. When finished, I hit the eng button, CAB1 remote came up on the screen. Where in the version 1.4 manual is the info to erase everything and start over? My wiring is fine. Does anyone else use TMCC and Legacy together? This really has me baffled because up to 3 or 4 days ago, everything was working fine.

Hoo-Rah! I don't know what I did, but I guess I pressed enough buttons on the CAB2 to get my Legacy engines to run in the CAB2 format. Thanks everyone for your imput. Just to be safe, I unwired my TMCC system from the layout and will wait until the CAB1L becomes available. I love Command Control in both Legacy and DCS, but it would be nice it there weren't any problems with it!

Use me a data point but I don't have any problems at all with my CAB-1 and CAB-2 operating on the same layout.  I run both Legacy and TMCC engines.  I don't see anything on the screen of the CAB-2 when addressing engines.  Nothing gets "confused" either.  The bases had to be wired a certain way to make sure this worked though.
