Legacy Cab2 Remote Control Question

You may have a problem, I've heard of this before.  I'd first try reloading the 1.52 firmware into it, just in case something got scrambled.

    You know of course I have no idea what 1.52 firmware is, or how to reload it.

Can you help me a little more with exactly what I will need to try.

You have a black module or the modules that came with it?

What version is on it now?

Since this is from the new shipment I believe, he should have the 1.52 blue modules.

Dave, look in the manual, the software update procedure is in there, very easy and quick.

Unfortunately, the best way would be to contact Lionel regarding. A RA number to ship,it back for repair.  they are very good about repairing these and shipping them back in a timely manner..

   Thanks you for the advise, I will wait till I take the Christmas layout down before doing so, it still runs my Legacy Shay perfectly, but will not power down or up without 1st removing the batteries.  Comes on as the batteries are reinserted, then operates perfectly.

That certainly sounds like a trip to Lionel is in the cards, I can't think of anything that would do that if it's not a bad software load.

Having same sort ofproblem have reloaded cab2  and legacy base and its says has reloaded but when turn on cab2 says its in cab1 mode and no cab1 is hooked up have called Lionel twice and ladies said to email tech for answers and am still waiting

Some folks had some luck loosening the screws near the CTC switch on the back a little. Seems some were so tight the button was binding.  Just a thought.

did you try pushing the INFO button and turn the red knob until you get to the legacy tab?

Basic question here, does it still come up in cab 1 mode after you press engine and input the engine id of the legacy engine you want to control?  When you input the engine Id it should come up with the engine number and info, provided you loaded that info into it from the orange module.

Have tried to load orange module of engine and wouldn't load keeps saying engine 69 and the engine # I am trying to load is 1996 tried turning the red wheel it just went to all the different settings Thanks Everbody for trying to help have to sign off going to have to put my wife's dog down so the trains will have to wait thanks again
