Hi all. Thanks in advance for any advice givin. I have a lot of Tmcc trains from the mid 90's to the mid 2000's. I recently bought the Legacy contro system. I programed all my trains according to the manual. My problem is that I never know when I go downstairs if the trains are going to respond to the controller or not. It's hit and miss. Sometimes I can get 5 different trains running at a time with no problem and the next day I can't get even one to respond. I hit the ctc button and power up the track and the train just wants to run without the control. Now it seems they want to run for 10 feet and then stop and the lights are blinking. Can anyone tell me if I'm doing something wrong? The base is wired to the track according to the manuel. As far as I know I've done everything by the book. It's driving me crazy. I want to see the trains run. Thanks for anyone who can suggest anything to me.

For starters, power up your legacy base first, then the track, a delay in the base command signal can make locos go into conventional mode. Be sure the base is plugged into a wall outlet, some power strips can cause signal issues

If that doesnt help you could have another issue like a ground plane problem. You'll need to post more info about your layout setup so folks can help.

Thanks all. I belive I have found the problem. As I was checking all the conections and even getting rid of the lock-ons and sodering all the wires to the track I found the post comming out of the base unit wasn't tight. It was loose from the inside of the base. So I have talked to my local hobby store where I purchased it and I will be bringing it back to them to be sent out for repair. You'd think I would have learned by now that just cause it's new dosen't mean it's not broke. Thanks for all the replys. I appreciate it. The layout is a dream my brother and I have had for a long time and we finally have been blessed with the funds to start it. It consists of 21 4x8 tables. The back section is 24' x 8' with two spurs of 32' x 10' comming off

each side. So it's kinda like a U shape.
