My Legacy control system number display has no background illumination and it is difficult to read the symbols and numbers. Should it have a back light on this part of the display? If so, how do I turn it on? The upper display with all the engine info is fine. Can read it easily.

Here are a couple of pics of controller, the numbers and icons are the same. The second picture has a little glare to it The backlight has a timer on it but I do not think it can be darkened more than it is. If yours' is not like mine you probably has something wrong with it.

The contrast of the display and keypad are independently adjustable. Press the CTC button and use the scroll button to page through the configuration options. I currently have mine both set at 40% contrast.
