Probably not the right place to ask this question but I thought I'd try before I call Lionel for a RA repair.

Put the BB on the track after sitting idle for nearly a year.  But.. it won't run in reverse. Forward is fine and all legacy features work perfect.  It just won't run in reverse in command or conventional.

Anyone have an idea what could be the problem?

Also, anyone know how difficult it is to remove the shell and what screws to remove..

I'm thinking it could be a loose board

Thanks

Joe

Thanks for your input but its not the problem. I actually had it run in reverse  but it slowed to stop at a curve like it lost power.   It also won't go forward when I try to go forward after its been in reverse.   I'm thinking a bad or loose board.

Thanks for the tip. Amazing how easy it is to get inside that beast .. The engine looks so intimidating & complicated but four screws and the boiler top lifted right off the frame..

Unfortunately, I found nothing to fix so its off to Lionel
