When I assign a road number to this engine (92) everything works well until I power down the track.

When I return for another session and power up the track, the tender immediately starts the idle sound of steam without my addressing the engine ID number.  Furthermore, when I try to address the engine with the previously assigned number, it does not respond. It simply stays stationary with the idle steam sound. I end up having to reassign an I D number every time I want to run the engine.

I have tried hitting the reset button on the legacy controller with no luck. I have searched online for a reset code to use with AUX 1 and could not find one for this specific locomotive. My legacy seems to work well with my other engines. Interestingly, the L and N does respond via Bluetooth when it does not respond to the 990

legacy controller.

ANY IDEAS? I would appreciate your help!

I am not going to be of any help to you, but I am L&N fan and have pretty much all the 3 rail L&N except Legacy pieces.  That's about when I started to slow down buying.  I do have legacy diner and it seemed like I changed the legacy controller from TMCC to cab1 or some other settings to get some things to work better or more reliably.  Perhaps, you do not have the legacy controller set properly but I am certainly no expert, just a beginner with legacy.  Good luck and I look forward to seeing what others contribute  to help you solve this.
