Legacy Problem New 1.51 Upgrade

1.5 had a problem the correct update is 1.51.  if you are getting full power to your engines then they are not seeing a command signal.  I do not believe updating is the issue, however see if going back to 1.4 fixes the issue can't hurt.

I'll second the "no t seeing the signal". Try powering up the legacy system first, then the track.

I just restored to 1.4 before I read your responses, as you said that did not work.

I just powered up Legacy base and Cab 2 then powered the track, train took off even in program mode. Could the Legacy be broke, it's a week old.

 from what i am seeing you need to make shore the remote is at 1.51 like base.

 at 1.5 base will not see remote.

Check all your connections to the track from Legacy.  If you did an upgrade perhaps the connection to the track has become disconnected somewhere.

The base and Cab 2 are both 1.4 - I restored them back. Previously they were both 1.51.

 You might want to redown load them from the net.

 We have been using 1.51 and like it so far. We had all our Club members remotes done and bases.

No Harry it is not working. 1.4 restore did not fix the problem. I am currently taking Marty's advice and rechecking all wire connections. So far all the ground wires check. Now checking hot wires.

I can't imagine 1.51 being the source of the problem, I've heard no other reports of that happening.

The main thing I would check is the signal wiring leaving the base to where it attaches to the layout.

Also check the post on the Legacy base.  If it's loose it might have an internal disconnect.  I've seen a couple of folks report that.

I had that happen to mine about a month ago.  I called Lionel and they had me restore the progams, when that did not work they gave me an RA number.  It has worked prefectly since. They said the radio board was bad, not sending out the signal.

I am going to do another test in the morning. What I will do is take an extra brick (180)

make a rug run of all straights and hook my Legacy up and see if it works. If it works well then I will know it's the wiring.

What else is happening is besides the engines taking off with full 18 volts sometimes while I am testing shutting Off bricks and turning back on a engine will power up not moving. I then attempt to activate a whistle or press startup no commands work. The engine just sets with rail sound activated and smoke unit working.
