Legacy Lionel #6-11400 “C&O H7 Articulated 2-8-8-2 #1578” was working flawlessly with Legacy base station v1.2 and CAB2 v1.2 . I upgraded to Legacy v1.3 yesterday morning, and ran this engine again as a test. It seemed to still run flawlessly. Yesterday evening, I upgraded to Legacy v1.6.
When I tried to run this same engine again, Legacy Rail Sounds seemed to be working, but with a large exception – There was NO chuffing at all, and there was no crew dialog on shutdown. It was very dissatisfying (and a little spooky) to have a silent running engine.
Repeated attempts at resetting the engine – both the “slimmed down” procedure in the Owner’s Manual for this engine, and the more elaborate full factory reset – were unsuccessful in gaining back the chuffing.
I re-installed Legacy 1.3, but still no chuffing, after more attempts to reset.
I ran four other Legacy steam engines, while still back with v 1.3 – and they all ran flawlessly.
Therefore, I am inclined to believe that it is just a coincidence that this engine had this failure at the time that I was updating Legacy.
My hunch is that I accidentally sent a command to the engine that turned off the chuffing, but I have no clue as to what that might be.
All suggestions as to how I can get my engine sounds back are very greatly appreciated.
