Legacy remotes

They will produce the Cab1L and the Base 3/Cab3 App..

That is the only current plan.

That’s the problem. There won’t be a next batch. Lionel is only producing the Cab1L and the app for one’s phone. The Cab2 remote has been discontinued and there isn’t another batch.

Wonder if for the people who are just die hard cab2 remote only users there are ways to repair them when they break?

I never got around to getting one but if I had it now I would be afraid to use it.

I bet we will see one of these on Antiques Road show one day. 😄

Look at the steal of a deal that Lionel is offering on the new system.

John is offering a simple remote for 1,000 - 1,500.  No question about what to buy.  
And you get to use your phone which is far easier, especially for guests and grandchildren.

Well... I'm not actually going to sell any CAB2's, I'm going to ride them off into the sunset.

I have two Cab2 remotes, I plan to keep using them. BUT, I am getting the base 3. I personally don’t like the throttle control on the phone, but am willing to try the app. I am happy that I can still use the Cab2. And who knows, maybe the Cab3 app will feature a better throttle than the current LionChief app.

As an aside, I do really like the DCS app and their method of throttle control. If the Cab3 app was similar, I’d be pretty happy.

I have a few that needs screens - the biggest failure imho. The rest of the circuitry is good.  It would be nice to be able to get the screens. The remotes were savaged by someone. Not worth the price for a Lionel send back out of warranty.

Lionel will repair them.  Email or call for an RA.  Silent warranty still in effect.
