Problem solved ,RICKO i did as you suggested with the reset procedure & it did not work, so next i took a close look at the drive wheels & they would not move at all after a closer look i found that what looks like a brake shoe right up against the rear wheel thus preventing the wheels from turning,so i had to remove the piece you see in photo 2,photo 1 showes the brake shoe {I think thats what it is called }look where the tweezers is pointing, once i removed this piece everything is ok,i have not put it back as yet.will let you know when i put it back on if it still hits the wheel.
Thats good to hear Gerald, I imagine the bake shoe detail piece may have gotten "tweaked" in the impact with the water tower. It may need to be repositioned if possible when reinstalled or you may be able to gently bend back the offending part ever so slightly so that it stays clear of the wheel.
I usually check the clearance of the brake shoe details on my steamers and adjust if necessary, They are not shays, and the detail is seperate for each wheel, but the concept is the same.
Typically and drivers with rubber tires on them are more incline to catch on brake details because of how they increase the wheel diameter slightly.
RICKO,I just came up from the basement i have put the piece back on & i ran the train through a passing siding with 036 switches both forward & reverse several times & all is well,so far i did not have to bend anything to make sure there was enough clearance with the wheels, but i will keep an eye on it in the future. It feels good when you are able to fix things yourself, with the help of forum members, thanks again.
Gerold,
Glad everything is back to normal with your Legacy Shay.

Va Golfer,
Paul thanks again for the K-Line Shay Bracket, every time I see the engine run on a tighter curve than 042, I will remember it was you that made it possible.
All the best

The first part of this video has my Legacy Shay in action - great running engine.
Jim,
What brand are the log cars? I've been looking for a really nice set of skeleton log cars to run behind my Lionel CP Shay. Most look too toy-like. Yours look just right.
Blue liner,
The cars are a mixture of K-Line and Lionel. The "logs" were cut from wild grapevines growing locally here in upstate NY.
Jim
Thank you, Sir! Very nice job. I would buy them if they were manufactured by Lionel, MTH or whomever.
Keystone,
Thanks buddy for the pictures of the PP&L Legacy Shay, you were right it looks way better than the advertisement, will be ordering one shortly, waiting on the new Legacy, and Paul has been kind enough to forwarded me the K-line extention Bracket, things are looking up! Inserted the 072 WYE Command Control FasTrack Switches into my layout today, the 263E Tin Plate Work Train run thru them like silk, I think the PP&L Legacy Shay will probably do the same, have a lot of 048 to accommodate the Shay, very few 036 on the outer loop now.
Thanks again for the pictures!
