Hello, I've got a Legacy Shay that has a smoke unit that works on and off. It completely didn't work for weeks, then worked for a half hour, then stopped again. All the wires and plugs are fine, so is the element and fan. Any ideas? Thanks

I have the same one, mine is the P. Bunyan 11297. There's not much to go wrong with the smoke unit, all the logic is on the RCMC board. If you're "sure" all the wiring is intact and the smoke motor and element are solid, not much else but the RCMC. Have you done a reset to clear it's mind in case something got scrambled?
Yes, everything's good. I have both reset it and programmed it multiple times. When I get home though I'll take the driver board out and check the connections thoroughly.
Any possibility that is it over filled with smoke fluid?
I got it working. It was overfilled and the fan got smoke fluid in it. The fan worked when I powered it directly cause there was no limiter to cut it off when drawing too much power from the fluid straining the motor. Got it all cleaned up - now there's no more problems. Thanks
