In looking over Lionel's selection of Crane & Boom Car sets on their website http://www.lionel.com/Products/Finder/SearchResults.cfm?doAction=search&Keywords=crane+car&CategoryID=&Gauge=&RailLineID=&CatalogID=&CollectionID=&searchWithin=Current, only the most recent version ..... BN from a 2010 catalog .... is listed as "Legacy." And, only the crane car has it.

Older versions, such as the Santa Fe from 2009, have only Trainmaster Control.

Yet, it seems they share instruction manuals.

Does anyone know what, if any, difference there is between the "Legacy" BN version, and the non-Legacy versions?

Thanks

Jim

Probably a bit of a misprint or just the fact that legacy is now the standard control system instead of tmcc. The crane cars are as good as it gets, and they deserved "vision" status years ago. If it helps, I own the NYC version which was one of the first ones, when manually entering it into the legacy remote you get icons for the crane controls, sweet. Now even my 6 year old can run the crane without issue.
