I went to an auction for Lionel Trains, and this American Flyer Green Diamond was sitting there in a tray. I had seen one once before, but could never afford them. Somehow, I got it for cheap, and then I did some research and found that most of them I found had a lower coupler, which mine doesn't have (doesn't even have the holes). Mine also doesn't have grill painted the silver/gray color. I think it's an early production with a factory error, as it does not look restored at all. Either way, it's a fun piece.

A video with some photos at the end:

At the April 2014 York meet I was going through the last hall of the day before heading home.  I was waiting for the aisle in front of me to clear when I spotted a Sunset/3rd Rail box at a table behind me.  I missed it going by the first time because the seller was in front of it showing another item.

Went back to see what it was and found this:

Doodlebug Side

Now, I never thought about getting a Doodlebug but this really interested me; it was scale, brass, had people inside it, and had TMCC with RS4.  After talking to the seller, he surprisingly went way down in price.  Well, couldn't pass it up so I bought it.  Because it is small with great diesel sound, it probably runs more than any other loco on my temporary floor layout.

Khayden93,

Actually I picked up an original Lionel 249 Tin Plate Train unexpectedly here on the OGR, had been looking for one in good shape, for a long long time, and the OGR provided one for me.

Just had her upgraded with ERR also.
