I have the Lionchief Polar Express with Bluetooth set and I think the smoke unit burnt out.  It made a funny smell the other night and now is not functioning at all even with plenty of fluid.  The set Sku 6-84328.

I wanted to see if I could get a replacement unit during the parts sale next week, does anyone have the proper smoke unit part number?  Looking on the Lionel site I found SKU: cs-6208653200-p but is labeled as for the Berk Jr so I wasn't 100% sure that was correct?

Or is there a better option to go like sending the unit somewhere to be fixed or upgraded?

The polar express is based on the Berk Jr chassis. This is common in lionel to reuse the same parts over and over.

Notice right in the title of your engine "Berk Jr".

All you really need most likely is the smoke batting or "wick" but also possible the resistor failed or when you remove the charred wick from he resistor you find it damaged.

So yes, buying a complete smoke unit at the half off sale for $9 plus tax and shipping probably is a fair deal for the parts to get everything.

Key point, Lionchief engines use 18 Ohm smoke resistors.
