What size modern engines will negotiate a 022 postwar turnout? Did Lionel make any 072 capable turnouts?

Lionel made 072 switches prewar and modern era,if the loco says it is rated for 072 it will do it.

Read what is on the box or instruction sheet for your new engine and that should tell you what size switch it can handle. Just some info; 027 and O gauge 031 switches are very close in size, 042 is an O gauge switch and may not be produced currently by Lionel, 072 switch is a larger switch diameter and should be able to work with most larger engines & tenders that are steam powered.
